What’s it about!

Sasi (Jagapathi Babu) is professor of Zoology at Harvard University. He returns to India and looks for alliances for his wedding but doesn’t like anyone in particular. A friend tells him that he is looking for Shailaja (Priyamani), his girlfriend during college days in every girl. Now the movie goes back to the college days. During P.G studies, he likes Shalija, a simple girl, but refuses to admit his love and they part ways due to misunderstandings. Now, she is a principal at all women’s college, a very strict disciplinarian at that. Sasi joins her college as lecturer in an attempt to win her back. How he convinces her and wins her love after 10 years and what tricks does he follow for it is rest of the movie all about.

Analysis

With Pellaina Kottalo, which starred Jagapathi Babu and Priyamani, writer Madan turned director and he won praise for that film. To repeat the same magic, he has made Pravarkyudu with the same couple. The basic plotline - two lovers who drifted ways for various reasons finding the true love 10 years later, sounds good on paper. But the execution of the film is not that smooth like the concept. Only second half and climax sequences are convincing in this film as director Madan fails to handle his theme perfectly. On the whole, the film is okay but it could have been better if the length is trimmed and more comedy is included. Rich production values and big budget for a Jagapathi Babu’s film has given the movie good ‘color’, though!

Performances

Jagapathi Babu as a college professor looks good. His performance in the climax scenes evokes right mood. But as college student, he looks odd, despite his young looks and perfect costumes. National award winning actress Priyamani shows off her real talent. Hamsa Nandini is sexy. Especially in some scenes, she looks stunning and enticing. Brahmanandam’s comedy is okay. But Ali and Sunil are wasted.

One of the major plus points of the film is its cool looks thanks to good cinematography by Surender Reddy and rich production values by Ganesh Indukuri. The other major drawback is uninspiring music by M M Keeravani. None of the songs are lilting. As writer Madan is talented, but as director he still needs to hone skills. In many scenes, the writer in him dominated the director. And also dodged on unnecessary scenes which is nothing but waste of money for producers.

Bottom-line!

Second half especially the climax sequences are strengths of Pravarkyudu. Although it has interesting plot line but it could have been better if handled in better way. On the whole, it is okay movie.

Priyamani Competing With Shriya

Gone are the days when the scenes of glamour and skin show belonged to the Bollywood beauties only. Story: Ram and Harikrishna (Kalyan Ram) are brothers who get seperated in childhood because of Ram’s mental attitude. Hari Krishna grows up to be an IPS officer and Ram grows up to be a serial killer who kills intelligent people. Anjali (Priyamani) is a CBI officer who arrests Hari Krishna for serial killings. To know who does all the murders and the reason behind the murders, one must see Hare Ram movie.

My analysis: Nandamuri Kalyan Ram has atlast did a decent movie after a very long time, his last good movie being Atanokkade. It seems that Kalyan Ram is being very careful in story selection, action, body language etc only when he is producing the movie. Over all Hare Ram movie is a good action flick with good amount of twists. Good story, apt direction, crisp editing and good music adds to the success of the movie.

Only problem in the story is that it has the shades of tamil flick Manmadhan in which Simbu goes on a killing spree.

Similarities between Hare Ram and Manmadhan:

1. Hero plays dual roles.

2. The younger one is mentally retarted.

3. The younger one kills people in both the movies (It is shown in that way in the first half).

4. In the second half, it is revealed that the eleder one kills everybody in both the flicks.

5. The mentally retarded hero dies in both the movies.

6. The eleder one comes out of the hands of Police using the name of mentally retarded hero in both the movies.

7. Sindhu Tolani is the heroine for the mentally disabled guy in both the movies.

8. Heroine has a killer phobia in both the movies.

9. Both movies has revenge as the back drop.

But the best part of the movie is that both Kalyan Ram and director Harsha Vardhan could make a good story and movie even though it had the shades of Manmadhan film. Its a decent movie with good technical values.

Performances: Nandamuri Kalyan Ram has done the roles of a sincere Police officer and a serial killer. He showed good differece between the two roles. His body language and his mannerisms were good and different for both the roles. He showed his acting talent for the first time in his entire filmy career.

Priyamani as the modern girl who runs behind the hero is good, but her role as a CBI officer didn’t suit her. She looks good in the modern outfits. Sindhu Tolani is the second heroine who looks decent in her brief role. She does the role of a TV reporter.

Kota Srinivas Rao and Rajeev Kanakala as usual suited for the villan’s roles.

Brahmanandam, Raghu Babu, Ali and Venu Madhav created the necessary comedy for Hare Ram.

Chandra Mohan, Sita, Chalapathi Rao and Sudha lived up in the roles of hero’s parents.

Music by Mickey J Meyer is very good, mainly the background score. Background score is really good when the serial killer comes into the scene. The music for the songs and their picturization is also good.

Story by Ram Prasad is good. He has mixed action with health mafia. The only problem in the story is that, it has the shades of tamil movie Manmadhan who had Silambarasan playing the lead roles.

Direction by Harsha Vardhan is excellent. He has given the required twists at the requried moment. He maintained the tempo of the movie till the last without losing the grip on the story. Only the climax episode is little big and prolonged.

Priyamani and aishwarya rai shares same screen

Currently Priyamani is ruling the roost with the nation-wide recognition after winning the national award for the best actress category, for her fabulous performance in the Tamil film 'Paruthiveeran'. She has now grabbed the opportunity to be the part of Maniratnam's latest venture that is to be made both in Hindi and Tamil simultaneously. While Abhishek plays the lead man in Hindi and Vikram in Tamil and Aishwarya Rai plays the female lead in both the versions. Priyamani enacts the role of second heroine pairing with Prithviraj, who is said to be playing the negative shade. This project will commence in September. AR Rahman will compose music and PC Sriram for the cinematography.

“Pellaina Kothalo” made Priyamani a big star in tollywood. Keeping aside the film, Priyamani was well applauded for her acting skills and expressions in this film. From a girl next door image to a hot glam doll of south, Priyamani has met morphed in just 1 year.
Brushing aside that she is love with Actor Vishal, Priyamani accepted that she is in love with a person in her real life, who is not a film personality. She also admitted that, she is a romantic person in her real life and wishes the same quality from her boyfriend.
When asked about some of the qualities about her boyfriend, Priyamani disclosed that her boyfriend is a very talkative in nature and this quality of his has made her fall in love with him. Adding to it she also disclosed that he is a Romantic person and starts a kinky conversation with her on phone daily. Priyamani without any hesitation disclosed some of the facts of the conversation and she says that her boyfriend is very much fond of narrating her beauty and her body parts. She without any shyness said that, he always describes her face as an angel of love and her neck as a lotus stem. And coming to her secret parts, Priyamani without any hesitation disclosed that, he always wishes her to show her assets, but Priyamani insists that she will do it on their first night.
If whatever Priyamani said is true then a question pops up immediately into our mind and that is “Priyamani are you still a Virgin”?
