The Film

This is one more film, where its makers think that a few songs, dances and fights should be composed first and the gaps to be filled with some scenes so that the film’s duration clocks 120 minutes.

The Synopsis

Radhakrishna (Nitin) is just an aimless young fellow wasting his time here and there. His father Nagendra Naidu (Naga Babu) is a police officer who wants his son to join the police force. Radhakrishna’s mother (Kovai Sarala) wants him to be a film star.

hero cinima review

Suddenly, Radhakrishna is shown undergoing training in a police academy. He meets Krishna Veni (Bhavana) who is also being trained at the academy. After a couple of love-scenes and songs later a TV channel claims that Krishna Veni is a naxalite.
The rest of the story deals with unraveling the so-called secret of Krishna Veni being a naxalite.

The Performance

Nitin and Bhavane look like fish out of water, particularly if that water is called a story. Nagababu and Ramyakrishna have just gone through their motions. Kovai Sarala plays a weird role, perhaps attempting to look comic and ends up on a queer note. Even Brahmanandam is seen giving an insipid performance.

The Techniques

GV Sudhakar Naidu should surely revert back to his bit-role acting in films rather than directing them.

hero cinima review

This film clearly shows that GV does not know the fundamentals of story telling, screenplay writing and direction. The contrived incidents are an assault on the minds of the audience.
Manisarma gave good music and Ramprasad handled the camera well, but of what use, when the film does not have a story to tell? Kannan is there because he has job to do.

The Verdict

The best place for the cans of this film to be in…is not in theatres, but the nearest trash can, because even the front benchers, for whom the film appears to have been made, should also be spared from a traumatic viewing experience.
Please forget that the film Hero by GV was ever made. It is such a colossal waste of valuable film and financial resources, in addition to invaluable time.
